Juvia's place Review - Makeup Fit For a queen

So we are in the month of love and like everything else in our lives due to the current state the world is in, it does look a little different than we are used to. I know a lot of people have been able in the past to just walk into a store or a makeup studio and get their face beat for an occasion or that special date such as on valentine’s day. That is still possible for some but for a lot others not so much and for various reasons too. This however does not mean that Valentines was cancelled or that you cannot still look good and take the time out to celebrate love or just pamper yourself and show yourself some self-love. Tarie Karemba did a get ready with me video where she gave some tips and showed us how you can use Juvia’s place berries palette to create a nice valentines look without going for the conventional reds allowing us to still make valentines weekend special. If you haven't seen the Get ready with me video yet, you can check it out here,

We followed this up with a review of the palette and a special story time session about my worst valentines day experiences. Check out the review below

Juvia’s place is a Nigerian makeup brand that was created for Africans by Africans and specifically formulated with consideration for all skin types from the fairest of fairs to the the darker hues of African skin. They believe that Africa is not only the birthplace of humanity, it’s the birthplace of all beauty. Their brand was created to celebrate the rebels, rulers and queens of the African kingdoms of long ago, who manifested beauty through their soulful and innovative techniques that the top beauty gurus still use today. Inspired by the vibrancy of Africa, their lines aim to celebrate those who use their beauty as self expression, all this while embodying a belief in inclusive beauty.

Juvia's place has a wide range of eye shadow palettes and these come in different color combinations with beautiful African queen or tribe depictions on their packaging.

The particular palette we used for Tari's Get Ready With Me is the berries palette which has both shimmer and matte shades and the three colors, pink, purple and red. Their products are highly pigmented and this helps them to easily color darker skin tones. this is usually a deficiency with other makeup color palettes. It is a diverse product and can be used for other things such as blush or even as a lipstick hack as Tari did in the video. The lack of a mirror in the palette though makes it a bit more tedious as you will have to continuously alternate between holding the eyeshadow palette and a hand held mirror when applying your eye makeup.

Getting all done up and having your makeup look good is in itself a form of self-care. Looking good on the outside can help you feel good about yourself, boost your confidence and can be a way of proclaiming your unique identity all of which can make you feel good on the inside too. We would love to see the looks you created with your Juvia’s place products or any of your other favorite makeup palettes. Follow us and tag us in your looks this month of love on all socials and we will repost you.
